Who is smarter? Americans vs. Filipinos

I stumbled into this video and I thought this worth a little time to think about. Although this video is a little bit bias towards Filipinos, the humour associated with it is still worth watching.

The parts where Americans are speaking in this video are taken from a different video when a reporter asked random people on streets with random questions.

On the other hand, the author of this video asked mostly students (same people) with the same questions that were asked for the Americans.

The interviewer though failed to pick intelligent Filipinos as some of the very simple questions here are not perfectly answered. For example, one of the three Pinoys didn’t know who Kofi Anan is. The other one answered Yugoslavia when asked what country begins with U.

This video should not be taken seriously on determining who is smarter and who is dumber because every country have smart people and dumb people.

Just watch and enjoy though.

It would have been better if the interviewer on the Philippine side asked random people on streets instead of asking the same students. I’m pretty sure the result would have been devastating for Filipinos if people along Recto or Taft were asked.

It’s a shame for someone who is a university student not knowing who Kofi Annan is. I can forgive the Israel religion thing (Judaism), but not about the former UN Sec Gen.
